North routes will be provided with the designation range of 3-4 + 30-49 + 93-94. There is currently no North Busway with current northern flyers using the HOV lane as an expressway. I would like to have a North Busway, but simply – there is no real option for building a North Busway to serve McCandless, and North Hills. Even a bus lane will not be feasible with the traffic that McKnight Road has. The only option for a North Busway will be an underground line, but there will be a need to get buses from underground to street level.

All Northern Primary routes will enter Downtown via the 7th Street Bridge. The route will then have a stop at Penn Avenue, and then turn on Liberty to have a stop on 6th street. The routes will then continue until turning on Stanwix street which will have a stop between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Blvd. The northern routes will then use Fort Duquesne Blvd to turn on 7th street to cross the bridge and exit Downtown. This will make it easier for riders to transfer from one northern route to another northern route.
